As we have been studying how useful is cooperative learning as a teaching tool, I would like to put this methodology into practive. In class we have already practice Round Robin, 1-2-4 and Gallery Walk strategies, so here you have another useful cooperative activity that we can use in our lessons and to evaluate our students.
RALLY COACH
When studying about cooperative learning, we have seen how important is to asses and evaluate our students' works. But, how about if they evaluate their mates' works?
Rally Coach is a really nice strategy to make our students tutor their peers. In pairs, one student will have the roll of speaker and the other one, the roll of evaluator. The first one will speak out its ideas and the other will give him or her some feedback. At some point, they will change roles. Remember to remind your students that feedback must include positive aspects as well as things to improve.
Rally Coach is perfect to encourage those students who prefer not to speak because they are afraid of the teacher's assesment. With this strategy they will boost their confidence and self-autonomy.
Do you know any other cooperative learning strategies? Please, share them below :)
