Now that Halloween is almost over, I would love to recommend you 3 original ideas to introduce Halloween in your lessons.
THE HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN (+ Edpuzzle idea)
Although Halloween is a worldwide celebration, not everybody knows the real history behind it. So it would be a nice idea to begin the lesson with the following video. Also, I would upload it to Edpuzzle.com and add quizz questions to get our students involved in the story.
VOCAB CROSSWORDS
Halloween is the perfect opportunity to get our students to know a bit more of specific vocabulary. You can prepare a crossword with terms as "pumpkin", "haunted" or "witch", or download it from the internet. Here you have an example. You can also make your students of higher levels create their own definitions.

A MOVIE AND A BOOK
Finally, I would recommend you a movie and a book that will, for sure, engage your students during this terrifying week. First of all, The Addams family is one of the must-see Halloween movies and it is perfect to inspire your students' customs.
When it comes to reading I know it is difficult to engage students with a book, so what about a short story? The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe is a good option to introduce some vocabulary and you can make them create their own stories, imagine the cover of the book or write a different ending. Creative writing is always a nice idea!
